Budget supermarket chain Lidl has been given the green light to build a 22,000 sq ft store in Cumbria as part of a wider £20m project.
The company has been given the green light by the store in Maryport by Allerdale Borough Council. It is expected to generate up to 30 full-time and part-time jobs, as well as 60 construction jobs.
The scheme is part of the wider Allerdale Investment Partnership project, which has earmarked a number of sites across the borough for residential and employment opportunities.
Pram Nayak, Project Manager of the Allerdale Investment Partnership, said: "Approval of the Lidl store is great news for Maryport and the wider area, bringing more jobs, investment and shopping choice for the people who live there.
